Tammin is located 184km east of Perth, Western Australia, on the Great Eastern Highway. The Shire of Tammin covers an area of 1,087 km² and is bounded by the Shires of Kellerberrin, Quairading, Cunderdin and Wyalkatchem.
The Shire of Tammin, including the settlements of Bungulla and Yorkrakine, has a total population of 400. The economy of the Shire is primarily agriculture based.
